Our Mission

The Soar Tennis Academy is committed to helping players of all ages and skill levels advance in their enjoyment of the game of tennis as well as in their ability to perform it at a higher level. We primarily offer group drills while also offering the chance to set up private/small group lessons if desired. Finally, it is our goal to utilize the game of tennis to develop men and women of strong character and advanced skill who excel in all areas of life.

Meet Matt, Our Founder

Matt Swigart is a USPTA certified teaching pro, and has been coaching and teaching tennis since 2013 as the Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at the University of Northwestern - St. Paul where he has become UNW's all time winningest tennis coach. Along with leading the teams Matt also has run summer tennis camps on campus for students of all ages.

Other coaching accomplishments include winning 4 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championships, earning 3 NCAA National Tournament berths and 2 NCCAA National Tournaments. His teams have won 5 UMAC Sportsmanship Awards. In that time 57 UNW players have been named UMAC All-Conference, 7 have been named UMAC Player of the Year and 15 have earned NCCAA All-American honors. Finally, he has been named UMAC Coach of the Year 4 times.

Coach Matt is excited to launch the Soar Tennis Academy as it is another avenue to leverage his background as a player, coach and youth pastor and will allow him and his team of coaches to effectively leverage teaching the game of tennis to invest in young men and women who grow in skill and character.
